Founded in 1901, the Society of Illustrators has had a distinguished yet lively history as an active participant in the ever-changing field of illustration and is recognized as the premiere national professional organization for illustrators. The Society is encouraging the formation of student chapters. Several are forming around the country and Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (Lancaster, Pa.) is among the first.
